Teaching Philosophy

Curriculum

  • Develop and implemented a rigorous and interactive curriculum, in alignment with Common Core Standards

  • Prepare age-appropriate lesson plans with proper accommodations in accordance to students IEP and/or 504 Plans

A differentiated way to ensure students success is by providing them with a multimodality form of assessment such as allowing students to respond to assessments orally.

Assessment

  • Summative Assessments: assessments includes data from pre and post tests in order to analyze student growth and mastery of content taught.

  • Formative Assessments: use of informal assessment to gauge students learning and understanding of content being taught. An example of this is frequent use of oral comprehension check, do nows, and exit tickets.

  • Standardized Assessments: use of local and state assessments such as the PSSA that provides data points as to which area students did not master, require additional practice in, or mastered.
